Nuttin.

Sometimes one just doesn't have much to say.  This is one of those times.

It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, anyway, so in light of that here are some pretty pictures to look at instead!

Featured Artisan:  Diane Irons

Diane Irons lives in Dundas and has been making functional stoneware pottery for almost 8 years.  She began her training at the Dundas Valley School of Art in 2004 and since then has taken many workshops including four at Fleming College in Haliburton and one in the United States.

She likes bright colours especially for spring and summer.  She is an active member of the Potters' Guild of Hamilton and Region, and besides selling her work at Textures, she also participates in the two Guild sales each year at the Dundas Community Centre.

Says Diane:

“I started my pottery journey in the fall of 2004 at Dundas Valley School of Art.  I immediately caught the clay bug and had borrowed a wheel from my teacher at Christmas so that I could practice throwing at home.  I now have a complete pottery studio in my home.

I love the endless possibilities with clay and the huge challenge.  It is not easy!!  There are many frustrations but many rewards.  I particularly enjoy making functional pottery that people can enjoy using every day.  It is very satisfying when someone tells me that their favourite mug for their morning coffee is one that I made.

I have recently started to make some jewellery.  I personally love to wear jewellery and it is so much fun to make!

I hope people will enjoy my pottery for many years to come.”
